"Dear God"

Deargod.net: a global project for people around the world to share their innermost hopes - and fears - through prayer, comes from the founders of thecoolhunter

It doesn’t matter what your version of God is…Jesus, Allah, Buddha or simply a spiritual universal energy… praying to a higher power soothes and heals. It’s scientifically proven that people who pray are healthier, happier and more resilient.

Share your prayers there with a picture that sums up your message visually. (Dear God will source a picture if you don’t have one).

Natural Hair Color AD - Beirut

Leo Burnett Beirut did this creative piece of outdoor where the woman’s hair, die cut out of the billboard to promote the line of Procter & Gamble’s Wella Koleston Hair Care Naturals hair colorant. Genial :D [link]

Time

Some say that time heals and every new day ebbs your pain a little more. Well maybe it does, but what is it that I feel when I wake up every morning and count another day to the last one I saw my father? What is it that reminds me of a new thing that I wish I had done or said differently? What is it that makes me take a deep breath and try not to tear up every time I see a father holding his child’s hand?
I think I’ll have to disagree, because of all I know time only made it harder and harder everyday, it only got my soul numb so that the more pain it gives the harder I stand, so I guess it’s wiser to call it a drug; it takes my pain away sometimes, but I know it’s there. It’s always there.

Globalization-al Mapping

I came across this very creative map, conceived and designed by John Yunker for ByteLevel Research.

The Country Codes of the World map includes 245 country codes, which encompasses all United Nations countries as well as numerous islands and territories. Each two-digit code is aligned over the country it represents and is color coded. Each ccTLD is sized relative to the population of the country or territory, with the exception of China and India, which were restrained by 30% to fit the layout. At the other end of the spectrum, the smallest type size used reflects those countries with fewer than 10 million residents.
Because there are no country borders, this map has been proven by teachers to be a valuable tool for teaching world geography.

Pretty cool, isn't it?

Brazilian Views on Gaza Holocaust

Brazilian cartoonist Carlos Latuff created illustrations that call on the world to condemn the Gaza holocaust

Latuff said: “I'd like to beg all viewers to spread this image anywhere, as a way to expose Israeli war crimes against Palestinians. Use it on t-shirts, posters, banners. Reproduce it in zines, papers, magazines, and make it visible everywhere. Here is the high-resolution version for printing purposes (link) Thank you in the name of every suffering Palestinian”

Weird Word Game

In my Oral Skills class we played a "game": say a word and a name of a classmate and they have to say another word that "apparently" pops up in their heads after they've heard your word. Here are the words that came up:

music, Jazz, song, words, game, winning, nothing, everything, Japanese, graduation, success, examination, sadness, feelings, songs, fairooz, apples, trees, bushes, hedgehog, nothing, everything, life, spring, flowers, lilac, perfume, nothing, sadness, oysters, nothing, anger, china, billions, India, eagles, Taj Mahal, media, 35, colors, love, feelings, romance, valentine, cupid, popcorn, movie, keanu reeves, Craig David, Singer, Satisfaction, and I will add: huh!

Some of them made sense to me but things like: sadness and oysters,
fairooz and apples, Japanese and graduation, keanu reeves and Craig David!!!!! Okay
